Making Money Online For Free

Hi, this is me. Yes, I am an Internet marketing slacker. I started this blog (one of many I have) with lots of good intentions. At the time I thought I would be able to write at least one good post a week about how to make money online for free but I failed! Why? Simply because I don’t have time anymore.

You see, until last month, I had a comfortable full time job with a paycheck coming in every 2 weeks. But things have changed and I am now relying on my skills only to pay the rent. I am now a full time Internet marketer.

So far it’s doing pretty well. I actually learned so much in the last month, it’s amazing!

Even though I know a lot about Internet/affiliate marketing, I am always buying new ebooks about making money online. The reason is there are always new things to learn, new tips and tricks.

If you’ve been looking into how to make money online, you most likely came across these websites that tell you how to make $137,729 a month working 2 hours a day. These websites always look like scams, right? Yes, they do look like scam sites with a long sales pitch but the reality is these are great information resources.

In the last month alone, I spent over $500 in money making ebooks. I have to admit that a couple of them were crap. But I did find a few ebooks and programs that are really worth your money. I suggest you have a look at these sites if you’re serious about making money online:

I will do my best to blog here as often as I can and share with you some of my “discoveries”.

A few days ago, I wrote about a few tools that can help your Craigslist marketing, but I realized that I never really explained how you can make money for free on Craigslist. There are actually 2 ways to make money on Craigslist. The first one doesn’t require any investment at all from you (except time and Internet connection!). The second one may require a little investment but can be done for free if you master the thing.

Marketing affiliate programs on Craigslist

My previous post was about how to make money online for free with affiliate programs. In this post, I described how I use affiliate programs and Google Adwords to generate revenues without spending much. Well, good news, you can generate revenues without spending at all, using Craigslist.

You see, Craigslist is a gigantic market place with millions of visits every day. All the people are looking for jobs, furniture, pet stuff, etc… If you can find an affiliate program that caters to any of the ad sections on Craigslist, then post about it. You’re guaranteed to generate massive amount of traffic for free.

Ok, it sounds simple but… it isn’t. Craigslist has amazing spam filters in place that won’t let you post as much as you want. While you can do your Craigslist posting manually, I highly recommend using tools. These tools will save you time and even though you have to pay for them, I can guarantee you they will pay for themselves in one round of posting on Craigslist.

Another problem you may encounter on Craigslist is that it doesn’t allow you to post affiliate links. There are some tricks to this like putting a link to a Blogger account that automatically redirects to your affiliate link. Another trick is to buy cheap domain names and use them to redirect to your affiliate links. Once the domain has been flagged and banned by Craigslist, just get rid of it. I know, a domain name is another $10 investment but it’s well worth it.

Buying and selling on Craigslist for a profit

The other way to make money on Craigslist is to buy cheap stuff and resell them for a profit. You can either resell them on Craigslist or, even better, you can resell them on eBay.

I’m going to take a real example: mine. A few months ago, right before Apple came out with the iPhone 3G, I noticed that iPhone prices on Craigslist and eBay were skyrocketing. I also noticed that the Euro was very strong compared to the dollar. Lastly, I noticed that a $400 iPhone in the US, easily sells for 450-500 Euros in Europe.

What did I do? I bought as many iPhones that I could get my hands on in my area and I started putting them online on eBay, targeting the European market. I bought most of the iPhones for $300 and I sold all of them at least at 450 Euros. My profit was around $200 per iPhone sold. I had made a business out of it and sold 93 of them in a 2-month period. Total estmated profit: $19,600. To this, you have to deduct the time I spent in my car driving around town to meet the people selling their iPhones. That would be about $300 in gas, tops. All the shipping charges were on top of the sales price so shipping didn’t cost me anything and I actually made a very very small profit on every iPhone I was shipping to Europe.

This is a perfect example of how you can make money on Craigslist. I did spend a little money but the return on investment was gigantic!

The last way to make money on Craigslist without even spending a dime is to find good drop-shippers. I guess this could be explained in another post but basically dropshipping allows you to sell products you don’t own. But how does that work?

First, you need to find good drop-shipping programs. I highly recommend you look at this site, this site, and this site for huge lists of the best dropshipping comapanies. Once you found a few dropshipping companies that you think can work well for you, start posting the products on Craigslist.

I did that for a while but really hate having to deal with actual products so I kinda gave up on it but you can make serious money just selling stuff you don’t even own.

This business works even better on eBay. List products you don’t own but you can get through dropshippers. When someone buys your product on Ebay, order it from the drop shipper as soon as you receive the payment from the item’s buyer. This way, you don’t even have to use your own money. You’re selling a product that you don’t have but can get in a few days delivered to the door of the buyer.

As a conclusion, you can see that there is a lot of money to be made on Craigslist. Whether you own the product or not, you will be able to make a decent amount of cash but don’t forget that nothing’s easy. This will take a lot of your time, but again, rewards are way worth it!

If you want my opinion, affiliate programs are the best way to make money online for free as they don’t require any investment from you. All you will need is an Internet connection and some time to set up everything. But first things first, let’s see what an affiliate program is for those of you who don’t know yet.

An affiliate program is a program that allows companies or individuals to market a company’s products or services for a commission fee per item sold. There are usually 2 parties involved: the advertiser (the company that has something to sell) and the affiliate (the person who wants to help sell this product/service).

Affiliate programs are a great way for an individual or a smaller company to make sales by having other people refer potential clients. This is a very cost effective way to generate new business. In most cases, the commission structure is based on a per sale fee, meaning that as an affiliate, you will only get paid if the person you refer purchases something.

For the Internet marketer, affiliate programs are the most inexpensive way to make money online without spending a dime. Signing up for an affiliate program is free and you can start refering people right away.

Where to find affiliate programs? Many companies have an affiliate program in place. If you go to their website, look for the “affiliate” link in the footer of the site, or maybe in the “about us” section of the site. You wouldn’t believe how many companies are looking for affiliates. They know it’s a cheap way to sell more of their products or services.

There are also many websites that specialized in managing affiliate programs, and I would suggest you look for them first as they will make your job easier. These websites are like a huge market places where advertisers (publishers as they are often called) can list their affiliate programs and affiliates can choose what they want to market. In most cases, you can browse various affiliate programs by category (ie. health, business, sports, etc…) and then it gives you detailed information about how much they pay and what the usual conversion rate is.

I am myself a member of several of these market places. Here are just a few of them:

• ClickBank – without a doubt the largest one, and the one where I make most of my online money
• Commission Junction
• RegNow
• Share A Sale
• Pay Dot Com

So once you’ve signed up and become an affiliate for several companies, how do you start making money?

Well, my friend, there is no easy way to do it. If you really want to do it without spending a single dollar, your best bet is to go to forums or blogs related the the product/service you are promoting and talk about it there. But be careful, posting affiliate links on a forum or a blog will most likely be seen as spam. Don’t just go to a forum and post something like “I found the best product ever, here is the link”. This will clearly get you banned instantly.

Instead, try to be genuine and try to participate in the life of the community. Write genuine and interesting comments. Most forums allow you to have a “signature”. Have your affiliate link in this signature. If you write interesting comments, people will notice you and they will be intrigued by your signature and they will click on it.

When I first started marketing affiliate programs, I didn’t know anything about forum rules. I went to a forum and started posting my affiliate links all over the place, completely spamming this poor forum. I got banned within hours. I learned my lesson. I created a new account and went back to the forum and started posting interesting comments, asking genuine questions. It worked for me. I post at least one post a day in about 20 different forums. In each of these forums, I have a signature with my affiliate links in it. This makes me about $100/day. About 1 hour of work makes me $100/day, sometimes more.

If you have your own blog or website, this is the best way to talk about your affiliate programs. Write posts about it, have your affiliate links in your sidebar, or even have banners on your site that link to your affiliate programs. If you don’t have traffic coming to your site though, it will not do much…

The best way to promote an affiliate program is through Pay Per Click advertising. You will have to spend a little money “buying clicks” but it is the most effective way to promote an affiliate programs. I promote something like 50 different affiliate programs through PPC. It took me a while to set them all up but now it’s running smooth. I make about 30 sales/day through PPC advertising. At an average of $20/sale, that’s $600 in revenues. I do spend an average of $150 in PPC on a daily basis so I make a profit of about $450/day. These are average numbers. Sometimes it’s more, sometimes it’s less.

I think I covered the most important ways to generate money through affiliate programs. If you want to get serious about it, I would highly recommend buying some of the following eBooks. I know this blog is called “Making Money Online For Free”, but sometimes you have to spend a little to make money…

• Commission Blueprint – teaches you everything you need to know about making money with ClickBank (you can replicate with other affiliate marketplaces). A must-read! Although pricey, it is the most comprehensive resource out there for making money with affiliate programs
• Secret Affiliate Code – not as comprehensive as the Commission Blueprint but a great resource as well. If you’re on a budget, this is your best bet
• Google Money Pro – will teach you everything about Google Adwords. I though I knew Google’s PPC system but after reading this ebook, I realized that I knew 10% of it. This ebook is the reason why I make so much money with Google Adwords

You’ve heard this before… You know, all these websites that offer you money to take surveys… If you google “make money taking surveys”, you will get over 9,000,000 results and I’m not gonna lie to you, most of them are crap!

However, there are a few legit companies out there that do pay you or give you prizes to take surveys online. I have been in the online marketing business for quite a bit and I had never tried any of them so I decided to give it a try. However, I was overwhelmed by the amount of websites that offered me money to take surveys and I didn’t know where to start.

That’s when I came across a program that gives you access to a couple hundred sites that pay you cash or give you prizes for answering a few surveys. I was a little skeptical and I really didn’t want to pay the required $40 to access the list, but since it said I would get my money back if I wasn’t satisfied, I pulled out my credit card and purchased the program.

What a good decision I made that day. Within a few hours, my $40 subscription was paid off in cash and I was also supposed to receive coupons to redeem in hotels in my area. How cool is that?!

This is definitely not a way to get rich as there are only that many surveys you can take in a day. I devoted one full day to taking surveys last week, just to see how much I could make if I did that as a full-time job. I made about $125, spending 7 hours taking surveys. I also got a few coupons for a bunch of different services (car wash, hotels, etc…).

Although it’s not too bad, $125/day is not enough for me but I am sure there are some people out there that would be more than satisfied with that. I’m thinking about the stay at home Mom watching the kids all day. She can probably spend a few hours filling out surveys and generating extra revenues for her family. Or if I was a student, I’d rather do this than wait tables in a restaurant for sure.

The program doesn’t only give you access to sites that pay you to take surveys, it also gives you access to a database of websites that pay you to read emails! Yes, you can get paid to read emails as well. These emails are advertising and you don’t make much per email but I managed to make about $20 in about 30 minutes of time reading emails. That might be a good cash generator.

Additionally, the program shows you how to get paid to shop or even paid to drive your car around, with advertising on it. I’d love to get paid to shop but there is no way I’m going to put ads on my car. I have yet to try the program about getting paid to shop. I am actually thinking about turning my wife onto it as she’s almost a pro-shopper

As a conclusion, I’d say that if I had to spend these $40 again, I would totally do it as I got my money back (and more) within hours. But again, you will not be a millionnaire taking surveys online but it could bring decent amounts of extra revenues to your family. Visit this website if you’d like to learn more about it.

Not many of us know the secret to making money is sitting right within our houses, collecting dust, underutilised for trivial reasons like surfing the internet and playing solitaire. We are logged on to the biggest cash cow since diamond mining and we don’t need a hard hat to delve into its intricate world and make some serious money from its services. Using internet to make extra money at home is a reality that drapes upon the lives of thousands upon thousands of people all over the world and I think its time we all wake up and start making our desktops and laptops work for us.

Just take a look on the internet and tell me one thing you always see, no matter where you go. It’s content. Content is king on the internet and the demand for something growing at a galactic rate everyday is phenomenal. Websites, corporations and organisations will always need content to drive their online business or even just to get noticed online and this is where you come in. Write, research and submit. These are the three magic words I want you to ingrain into yourselves. The demand for material is growing everyday and people are getting paid thousands a year to do just that. Blogs, forums, replies, stories, online articles – these are just some of the examples of content that is needed on almost a daily basis. Finding a company that needs content is not that hard and the wages you can make, on just doing it one or two hours a day can settle a lot of bills at home and free your money for quality spending.

Don’t like to write? Then work at home as a virtual customer service officer. Many companies are home sourcing their customer service operations to cut costs and this means opportunities for you to make money working from home. And the best thing is that you won’t be paid something in the equivalent of peanuts, but some of these companies, especially hotels, are paying rates that are almost double and triple to their offline offices. If you spy such a company don’t hesitate to grab it because the beautiful thing about working at home is the fact that you can have multiple employers.

Can’t stand talking to people? Then do direct marketing online. Or set up a website as an online shop. Design a product from scratch and start selling online. Imagine the possibilities when at any one point there are more than six million people logged on to the internet and you just need a fraction of that population to make some serious money. It’s absolutely free and all you need is time and patience to build up your customer base and learn the ways to drive volume to your website and write good sales copy to motivate people to buy. Once you get those things right, you wont ever look back.
